The 2025 ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open (WSO) recently wrapped up at a blustery Dundonald Links on Scotland’s Ayrshire coast.

England’s Lottie Woad triumphed in commanding style, carding a closing 68 in testing final-day conditions.

Remarkably, this was Woad’s first event as a professional – making her just the third woman ever to win on her professional debut, alongside Beverly Hanson (1951 Eastern Open) and Rose Zhang (2023 Mizuho Americas Open).

She was challenged hard by Hyo-Joo Kim, who shared the lead with 4 holes to play, and Nelly Korda, who reeled off 4 straight birdies on the front nine. Unfazed, Woad sealed a three-shot victory with a clutch birdie at the 72nd hole.

This win capped an extraordinary month for the 21-year-old, following her Women’s Irish Open title and T-3 finish at the Evian Championship. Her stellar start has catapulted her to 20th in the Rolex Rankings – a meteoric rise for her first few weeks on tour.

Dundonald has now hosted the WSO for four straight years and seven times in total. While not a historic links, its layout offers a stern test and benefits from a prime location near Glasgow and several other championship venues.

Having played the course ahead of the tournament, we can attest to its quality. Dundonald blends classic seaside links traits – rolling fairways, deep pot bunkers, gorse, and firm, fast turf – with strategic shot-making demands. It’s an outstanding golfing experience, and one we wholeheartedly recommend.

Ahead of the WSO, Georgina headed over to Dundonald to see what she would shoot playing from the 6,500 yard 2025 course layout. Watch here.
